How to Unfuse Items in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

The Fuse ability is the second core ability you’ll unlock in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. It becomes a part of your kit after you complete the In-Isa Shrine. It allows you to attach just about anything to your weapons and shields in order to improve them in various ways. The ability description says that you can also undo the fusion, “but that will destroy whatever has been attached”. You can do this by selecting a fused item and pressing “Destroy fused material”.

However, is there a way to undo the item fusion in Zelda TOTK and not destroying the material? You have the Fuse ability at the start of the game, but the game never explains how to unfuse. It turns out that the ability to unfuse items in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom unlocks much later in the game.

Namely, once you reach Tarrey Town, you’ll find the Break-a-Part Shop. There, a guy named Pelison works. His shop is just to the right of the town entrance. Check out our map below for the exact location. Once you see Pelison, interact with him. And he will explain to you that he will be able to unfuse any fused item for 20 rupees. And that’s it. That is how you unfuse items in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.
