While you won’t have access to changing the look of your gear right from the very beginning of the game, this option is going to open up soon. How to Dye Clothes and Change Armor Color in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
We’ve already mentioned that you won’t be able to do this at the start of the game. This is because the game gradually opens up, and you need to go to a shop that specializes in gear customization. Specifically – the Kochi Dye Shop. It can be found in Hateno Village. We have marked the location of this village in the gallery below. Go there and speak with Sayge inside.
He is going to explain how this works. There are several different options here. You can either dye your clothes (which includes armor) or change your Paraglider Skins (which are called Fabrics in-game). You need dye ingredients to dye clothes and armor. There is also the option to remove a dye from a piece of equipment, so you don’t need to worry about getting “stuck” with a design or color that you don’t like, and are free to experiment and change your look as much as you want to. Each of these options costs 20 Rupees. Basically, the entire process works pretty much like it did in Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
