Zelda BoTW Gold Lynel Locations in Master Mode
Gold Lynels are a new type of enemy in Zelda Breath of The Wild. They were introduced in the Master Trials DLC, and they’re only available in Master Mode, BoTW’s version of hard difficulty. Killing a golden lynel is no easy task – the same goes for finding them. They spawn only after certain conditions are met, and they’re really rare. In this guide, we’re going to show you Zelda BoTW Gold Lynel locations.

Where to find Golden Lynels
First of all, they’re only available on Master Mode. They simply won’t spawn on regular difficulty. Seeing how the gold lynel is the upgraded version of the silver one, you’ll first need to defeat a bunch of those. It can be tedious, but it’s great practice for when you do get to fight the gold version. They’re exactly like the silver lynels, except with more health. Finishing all four divine beast quests will increase the spawn rate of the silver ones, making it easier to coax a golden into existence.
We’ve only see one location so far. It’s the Colliseum Ruins, the ones east of the Outskirts Stable. If you’ve already collected the Phantom Armor, you’ll remember it as the place where you found the helmet.
You can use all the normal Lynel tactics to defeat the beast, it will only take longer, on account of the health point bump they received. Make sure you stun them – it makes the fights much more bearable. We’ll update the guide with other locations as we discover them. If you know of another place where golden lynels spawn, feel free to let us know using the comments.
how do you spawn the<?
idk i think you need to defeat all 4 devine beast
Master mode is so frustrating
Just do the trial of the sword and it makes any Lynel way easier to kill
I found one near the barren “forest” where you find Ganon’s horse. Took me a bit by surprise..
You can find 3 gold Lynels at the North Tabantha Snowfield and the Sha Gehma Shrine, 2 by Oseira Plains and the Ishto Sah Shrine, 2 in Deep Akkala the first being in the Akkala Wilds and the second being near the North Akkala Valley and 1 south of the Shae Loya Shrine.
Yeah even in master mode these were silver for me until I did the 4 divine beasts, got max armor upgrades on like half the armors, am about half done with shrines, and am like 2 hearts away from 20 health. I been tryna find em gold cuz they seem to have guaranteed high modifier weapons (5 shot, attack +14-18, etc). I always farm the ones farther north by the Sha ghema shrine and the northern-most points of eldin cuz they are my guaranteed silvers. I only just now had a gold one tho.
There’s another Golden Lynel precisely at Purifier Lake, which is close to Lanayru Road – East Gate, or to the West of the Spring of Wisdom, at the foot of its mountain. It shoots Freezing Arrows, and can shoot them skywayrd, making it rain whenever you are and one-shotting you regardless of your health. So be careful.
I haven’t beaten any divine beast yet but have collected most shrines and most Lynels I face are Golden.
I have killed countless silver lynels and I’m on master mode, but the only gold one I’ve seen is in the coliseum ruins. Any tips to get ,more gold ones to spawn?
There is one at lodrum headland which is on the right in front of mount Lanayru and there is also one at the begining of the mastermode game behind the temple of time there is also one near where you find ganondorf’s horse which reminds me of another one near the horse fairy
Okay I think I figured it out. I killed three silver lynels, then they all became gold lynels. I think once three are down gold ones spawn
Another one, Oseira Plains, Faron Grasslands
I got one to spawn, on the Kamah Plateau in the Faron Region
Actually after beating all the divine beasts. Those suckers are everywhere. It took me 3 tries and not in the cold area, but I finally took one out, save before you start. They are harder than at least 3 of the divine beasts. The one in the desert is a jerk. It seems anywhere a white lynel used to be, there is now a Gold one, I haven’t checked everywhere though.
really? i thought you just kill the blue maned lynel in the coliseum, wait for the next blood moon and POOF! hes gold
there so easy if you do flarry rush
I can’t wait to use hard mode, I got the DLC, but so far I have just played normal mode.
