Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Overdrive Protocol Locations - Transfer Blades
Overdrive protocol is a key item in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. It allows you to transfer ownership of a blade from one driver to another. Since bonding a blade is a poorly designed process, in which you decide who’ll get it before you even know what it does, it’s good to have a way to correct mistakes. However, they’re quite rare, which is why we wanted to make a Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Overdrive Protocol locations guide, to help you transfer blades.
How to transfer blades between drivers?
If you’re not happy with your blade distribution, you can move them between drivers. As we’ve said, you’ll need an Overdrive Protocol for every trade. Once you have it, go to the blades menu, and perform the switch from the Manage Blades sub-menu. Transfering the blade won’t reset its Afinity, thankfully. Keep in mind that you can’t transfer Poppi, as she’s not a real blade, and you can’t equip Tora with other blades, as he’s not a real driver.
Where to find Overdrive Protocol?
The first one we’ve found is in the Kingdom of Uraya. You’ll find it in Garfont Village, in a chest near the Mercenary HQ. The chest is next to the canopy with the table and benches under it, where Hamlish is waiting for you.
Another one can be found in the Gormott Province, in Torigoth. It’s in a treasure trove at the marketplace, on the corner northeast from the fountain, right next to Sighall and the other soldier. Most people will probably pick this one up without knowing what it is, since the main story takes you to it.
We’re going to update this page with more places as we find them. If you discover some yourself, feel free to share their locations in the comments.
I opened those chests but I got no overdrive protocols! And you can’t sell them since they’re key items, so I didn’t accidentally sell them! I feel robbed!
One can be found at Smuide Hot Spring in Mor Ardain. The spring is located above the Inn in that region. Head up the stairs to the third floor and follow the path outside. Go up the stairway and head to the building at the top. It was in the room to the right. It was inside a barrel, right before the Spring.
can confirm this!
thanks alot!
