Wuthering Waves Epic Games Launcher Running but Isn’t Launching Error Fix
Wuthering Waves is coming out on May 23 and today you can start the preload. I just got an email from Epic Games Store that it’s available on their platform and I went to launch it and get the files before the launch rush. When I clicked Wuthering Waves to run it nothing happened. Epic Games Store says that WUWA is running but Wuthering Waves isn’t launching. Luckily there’s a solution for this bug and I hope they’ll make an official fix for it soon as well.
Wuthering Waves Launcher not Launching in Epic Games Store Fix
When you start the game from Epic Games Store launcher it is supposed to launch the special epic store Wuthering Waves launcher, but nothing happens. What you need to do is:
- Open your Windows Task manager by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ESC at the same time.
- Find KRLauncherEpic in the list of tasks.
- Right click on the KRLauncherEpic in your task manager and choose “Open file location”
- This will open the folder containing the files for the Epic Store version of the game. You now need to locate the file “launcher.exe”, or it might be just called launcher on your system with the WuWa icon. Run this file.
- Wuthering Waves launcher should now open.
You should now download the game from the WuWa launcher and you’ll be ready to play on May 23rd. IF you start the gam3e from the launcher you will only get the message about when exactly the game is launching. I’m hoping that Epic Games will fix the Wuthering Waves launcher not launching bug soon so you don’t have to do all these manual actions.
Alternative Way to Play WUWA on PC
To avoid using Epic Games Store altogether you can go to the official Wuthering Waves website. You’ll need to create an account there with your email address. On the home page there should also be a big Windows button that lets you download the official launcher and download the game that way. Epic games version off the game is the same, only using your Epic Games Store account instead of the Kuro Games account. You can also go to mobile versions of the game downloads from the WuWa home page as well.
