Wuthering Waves Echo Hunters Event Guide, How To Get 5 Target Echoes and Reach Echo Level 10
Echo Hunters is a Wuthering Waves event that gets unlocked once you reach Union level 8. Union level, of course, is the level of your character that you get leveled up through doing the main story quests and various other activities in the game. The Echo Hunters event consists of three parts. The first one is to collect 5 target echoes. You’ll have to reach Data Bank level ten next and finally you’ll have to complete a side quest. Echoes are a new mechanic in these kinds of games. They’re kind of like a combination in between the artifacts in Genshin Impact and Pokémon. So this is an interesting topic to explore. Let me tell you what I found out through playing the game and how I collected the target echoes and eventually reached the end of the Echo Hunter’s event.
How To Get 5 Target Echoes for Echo Hunters Event?
In the middle of the event screen, you’re going to see 5 pictures. If they have question marks on them, you haven’t collected that target echo and you need to go fetch it. Here’s a very nifty trick for you to check out and collect these target echoes.
There are clues for each target echo being displayed in the event step description box. You don’t have to look at the available clues for each of the missing echoes though. You just have to click on one of the pictures and then that echo is going to be selected in the in-game echo database. If you haven’t collected it before, there’s going to be a question mark next to it. You then want to click on the track button on the bottom right of your screen. On the next screen you want to click on the Detect button, that’s also in the bottom right. This marks the location of that particular echo closest to your location on the in-game map.
All you have to do now is go to that location, defeat the Tacet Discords and hopefully a target echo of the defeated enemy will appear. Echoes are not guaranteed to drop each time, but the game will continue showing you the next location of the selected echo and you just keep going there and defeating them until you have the echo drop. That’s how you’re going to collect all five of these target echoes.
How To Reach Level 10 Data Bank in Wuthering Waves for the Echo Hunters Event?
Once you’ve collected all five target echoes, the next step in the event is going to be to reach data bank level 10. You can open your data bank by clicking on the arrow on the right in the event screen or by going to the main game menu and clicking on the Data Bank icon. Wuthering Waves Data Bank levels are shown on the first screen. Each level is going to reward you with a stamina increase, but the more important thing is that the drop quality of each echo is going to increase with each level. So, after data bank level 5, for example, you’re going to start getting three star echoes (that’s blue quality). Higher levels increase the chance of blue quality echoes dropping. Past certain data bank levels you’ll start getting purple and then gold echoes.
One problem with this is that once you reach data bank level 7, you cannot progress to data bank level 8 unless you increase your SOL3 phase to three. Sol3 phases are level of your world in Wuthering Wave. Once you reach Union Level 10 you’ll be able to increase your SOL3 phase to 2. This will make all the enemies in the world become level 20 or higher. SOL3 phase can be changed every 10 union levels. So, to reach SOL3 phase three you will have to reach Union Level 20. That’s when you’re going to be able to continue leveling up your data bank level past 7 and reach the required level 10.
Important terms to distinguish here are Union Level, which is you character level, Data Bank level, which is your Echos collection level and SOL3 phase which increases with your character’s level and changes the level of all enemies in the game.
How to Level up Your Data Bank in Wuthering Waves?
It’s done through collecting echoes themselves. You’re going to collect most of the basic echoes very early on in the game (green version). That’s not going to be enough to take you beyond databank level 5 or so. What you need to know is that when you go into your Data Bank and you click on the echo gallery, you’re going to see all the echoes you’ve collected so far. The ones that have a question mark next to them you haven’t collected yet. You can track those like you did for the previous step of this event. Find them and defeat them to add them to your collection and increase your data bank level. You’ll probably have the bosses left for last in your Echoes collection. These calamity level Echoes are unlocked once you reach a certain Union (character) level.
Another thing to do to level up your data bank level is to hunt for higher rarity echoes than the ones you’ve already collected. Just go to one of the echoes you already collected in your data bank interface and look if it has one, two or three stars next to it. If it just has one star, that’s the basic quality of that echo. That’s green rarity of that echo. You want to get the blue rarity as well. Past data bank level 5 you’ll start seeing blue rarity echoes drop. Track the once you already collected and are green quality to get their blue rarity version. Repeat the same thing once you unlock purple quality echoes.
Alternative Way of Leveling up Your Wuthering Waves Data Bank
Another way to do it is go to the main menu, and then go to your guidebook. There’s going to be a milestone section here where you can do various tasks for different stages, and each stage, once done, is going to give you 30 data bank experience. That’s going to help level up your collection level as well.
The whole point of this Echo Hunters event is for you to learn how to deal with echoes, how to hunt them, how to upgrade your collection level, and basically how that part of the game works. That’s why it’s going to take a while to do this, but it’s going to teach you how to understand this game mechanic
Complete the Silver Haired Echo Trainer Quest
The last step in the Echo Hunters event is to complete the Silver Haired Echo Trainer quest. If you click on that arrow on the right again in the event screen, it’s going to take you to your quests screen and it’s going to say that you have a side quest called the Silver Haired Echo Trainer. You’re going to have to reach Union level 16 and complete the Utterance of Marvels Part 2 to unlock this side quest. Utterance of Marvels Part 2 is the main quest you completed at the very beginning of the game so you just need to level up your character. You’ll get a call from Chixia that needs help with a senior citizen and this will start the Silver Haired Echo Trainer quest.
There are three parts of the Silver Haired Echo Trainer quest and the last part can be done once you reach Union Level 21. So, don’t worry about finishing the Echo Hunters Event right away. It is a permanent event and it won’t go away. It’s there to teach you how to handle echoes, how to collect them, how to upgrade them, how to increase your data bank levels. By naturally progressing through the game’s story and the game’s events you’re going to get it done. I hope this helped and that you’re going to be able to at least start your Echo Hunters Event journey in Wuthering Waves.
