Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus Release Date and Trailer Revealed
The release date of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus has been confirmed by Bethesda during their E3 panel. The game takes place in an alternate 2961, where the Nazis have taken over the United States, despite the best efforts of our hero in the previous games. However, BJ Blazkowicz returns to battle, joining the resistance movement and fighting the Nazi forces.
Among its many announcements, Bethesda revealed that they’ll be releasing Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, riding on the wave of success of the DOOM reboot. The game will launch on October 27th, 2017, and you’ll be able to get it on the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game will take you on a journey across America, from the crocodile-infested bayous of New Orleans, via Roswell, to post-nuclear Manhattan. You’ll be collecting a bunch of guns and abilities to blast your way through über soldiers, cyborgs, and other Nazi monstrosities.
The game also got a reveal trailer. It’s mostly cinematic, both live-action and CGI, with a brief gameplay montage at the end. The cinematic sections tells you more about the story of the game, revealing that America is now under Nazi control. There’s a resistance movement trying to fight them off, but they’re failing. The gameplay, on the other hand, looks really cool and fast-paced, including dual-wielding and hatchet murders. It’s like the ultimate Tarantino movie. Check it out below.
Here’s a description of the game from Bethesda, revealing a little more detail about the game’s story.
America, 1961. Your assassination of Nazi General Deathshead was a short-lived victory. Despite the setback, the Nazis maintain their stranglehold on the world. You are BJ Blazkowicz, aka “Terror-Billy,” member of the Resistance, scourge of the Nazi empire, and humanity’s last hope for liberty. Only you have the guts, guns, and gumption to return stateside, kill every Nazi in sight, and spark the second American Revolution.
