Quest Text
While muddling around the well-shaded village of Blackbough, Geralt happened across a notice.
It stated a hunter named Niellen was looking for any help he could get in finding his wife, who had disappeared in the nearby woods a few days earlier. Geralt, allready deep in a search-and-rescue vein, decided to help find the woman.

Additional Info
The quest can be obtained from a notice board by reading a short message from a hunter called Nielen, whose wife Hanna is missing.
Go to Blackbough and speak to Niellen – he can usually be found next to his cabin. Your conversation will be interrupted by Margrit, Niellen’s sister-in-law, who will mention a friendship with the wife of the butcher.

Walkthrough
Following contains quest spoilers. You’ve been warned
Ask the neighbors about Hanna.
Start your search by asking around the village. If you wish to make it as short as possible, go immediately to the blacksmith. The blacksmith’s children will tell you that they saw Hanna enter the woods with another woman.
Search for signs of Hanna in the woods using your Witcher Senses.
Go into the woods northwest of Blackbough. There will be wolves and wild nekkers to deal with, but nothing special. When you reach the objective area, you will see a pack of wolves around a corpse.
When you dispatch the wolves and approach the corpse the investigate, you will be interrupted by Margrit. She will ask you to stop your search and lie to Niellen that his wife is dead. You have two options.

Choice 1
Agree and tell Niellen that his wife is dead.
You will receive 55 crowns from Margrit and and additional 10 crowns from Niellen.
Choice 2
Agree and continue the search.
You will get 55 gold from Margrit and will have the chance to complete the quest.
Choice 3
Hanna’s Body.
Southwest of the center of the objective area, you will come across Hana’s rotting corpse, torn to pieces. The body of a dog is near it, examine it to discover that it has long cuts across the skin.
There are claw marks next to the dog’s body. It appears that a werewolf killed Hanna and the dog, so now you must track it down and kill it.

Find the werewolf lair using your Witcher Senses.
There are paw marks close to the dog, next to an upright stone where the werewolf climbed up a tree. Geralt can’t tribe trees (yet) so you have to find another way to track the beast.
Use your Witcher Senses while going around the stone and you should find a tuft of fur on the ground. Its stench should now be recognizable and you can follow its trail through the forest. The scent will lead you to torn pieces of clothing. Expect to fight a bear and more wolves along the way (if you’re unlucky).
Northwest of the clothes is an Isolated Hut; enter it and read the Mysterious Notes that are lying on the bed.
When you finish reading them, exit the shack and inspect a smear of blood on the side of the shack. Go under the cabin and into a cave; you will have a door there which you will have to smash with Aard.

Search the werewolf’s lair.
Once you’re in the cave, follow the tunnel until you enter a large cavern. If it is daytime, meditate until the night falls (around 8 PM).
Defeat the werewolf.
When you finish meditating, some wolves will appear from the outside, accompanied by the werewolf itself. Concentrate on the werewolf and bring his health level to almost zero, at which point Margrit will interrupt you once again.
It appears that Niellen is the werewolf, and that Margrit has fallen in love with him so much that she lured her own sister out into the woods to be eaten by the werewolf (she says she just wanted her to see Niellen transform, but that’s up to your own interpretation).
You are presented with two choices.

Choice 1
Can’t let you do that.
Fight with the werewolf continues and you have to kill him. You get 50XP for this and Margrit lives.
Choice 2
Shouldn’t there be an option to confront Margrit back at the village after choosing to prevent the werewolf from killing her!? I returned there but couldn’t seem to find any acknowledgement/continuation of the narrative!
Man, I wanted to let the beast tear her up, but then I didn’t want to miss out on any potential combat xp (dunno the finer points of all these things) , oh the painful choices one has to make!
Lol i spared margret but then a glitch activated where it replayed the cutscene (all while the werewolf was both lying on the ground as normal for the cutscene and standing up ready to fight round two – ie there were two werewolves). curiosity got the better of me and i chose to kill margret this time to see how the game would respond. as it turns out it just acted as if the kill margret option was chosen, the second werewolf was nowhere to be seen.
pretty fascinating
Hah…I had no clue that even if I had accepted Magrit’s bribe there would still be an option to keep on search…too bad missed out on 55 crowns..lol..
..i felt refusing the offer was more righteous, a witcher should always honour his contract..otherwise seemed unethical.
I found that if you agree and accept Hanna sister offer and find the werewolf cave, the objective to tell Niellen about his wife fate will be marked as red. If you are looking for a few red failed objective then avoid the choice. Sadly I found this the hard way (sorry for my bad English)
SPOILERSSSSSSS THE only option has to be choice 2. Margrit chose her actions and knew the results and disregarded her sister’s love for Neillen. Suck a f’ing Wicked SOB. Niellen was cursed and sentient and was so careful not to endanger anybody. He was the hero here. He righted the wrong and then punched out on his life card knowing he could not live with the fact his wife was murdered by Margrit. Just brutal.
