Where to sell Monster Trophies in Witcher 3
You can get monster trophies for slaying special monsters in Witcher 3. These trophies are items you can equip and they give various bonuses (5% extra experience or 10% to dismemberment chance for example).
This merchant, unlike others, pays full price for any items you have in your inventory. This means you will get 250 Crowns for a single monster trophy you want to sell, while other merchants pay just 27 Crowns. He has 500 Crowns initially and regenerates 125 Crowns every 5 days. You can meditate for 10 days if you want to sell more trophies or just do some questing and exploring and come back to him when his funds regenerate. This merchant is probably bugged, because sometimes you can’t talk to him. He appears between 5AM and 6AM (game time). He also has a great inventory of various Alchemy ingredients and three lesser glyphs for sale, so you can restock if you are short on those. He’ll buy from you other items for full price as well. Pity he has such a small amount of funds available, otherwise he would be the best merchant in the game.
Some of these bonuses might not be interesting to you or you can have several of the same trophy, so they are just taking up your inventory space. The best way to get rid of them for a handsome monetary reward is a special Alchemist near Oxenfort gate in Novigrad.

Figures it ended up patched
Good thing I’m playing without any updates lol
Just Need somewhere to sell things worth more then 500 coin
I’m constantly overburdened and walking
I’m sure my punch and then rolling to get around faster was probably patched at somepoint
Carry weight sucks I just want to take everything and not even think about leaving anything behind
Patched. Sucks.?
Patched
I GOT BUTT-RAPED ON ONE OF MY TROPHIES BECAUSE I WAS HOPING WHAT I WAS READING WAS WRONG, I’M PISSED NOW
oh well…
I calmed down.
ME TOO, OFFERS SHIT PRICES FOR TROPHIES, BUT HE HAS THE GREATER RUNESTONES BUT FOR A SHITLOAD OF MONEY
He’s not even buying my trophies at full price :/
I think this no longer works as it used to….so are we back to running around trying to guess the best spot by the merchant’s wares? I suppose so.
He only offers me 33c per trophy?
Seems to be changed, offers me almost nothing for trophies.
Thankfully money stops being a problem after a certain point. Right now I’m level 23 and have like 30.000 crowns or something. I loot a lot, and if you get dimeritium ingots or ore, although valuable for crafting powerful equipment, generally you get quite a few of those, so it doesn’t hurt much to sell a couple once in a while, and you get a lot of money for them.
I waited 20 days and he only replenishes 148 coin (xbox one). He is still the best place to sell pretty much everything. He even buys furs/swords/armor etc full price. Sucks about his coin tho.
I was able to get him to talk to me by fully leaving the building, and waiting until his arrival time (0500-0600). The option to interact appeared upon entering the building again.
Anyone figure out a way around the bug that doesn’t allow you to speak to the alchemist who buys items at full price? I sold items to him once and now every time I go back, I am not given the option to speak to him.
meditate at least full day. he appears at 6 am and leaves around noon. i meditated 7 am to 6 am then another hour then his talks again
just meditate next to him for 1 h a cople of time’s till you can talk to him (warked for me)
save-load option also works
I’ve already been to this merchant and honestly any other merchant wil buy your trophies for more and if anyone was wondering, you have to wait until noon to speak with him
When looking at the map in Novigrad to the left along the coast of St. Gregorys bridge is a scraggly peasant merchant who buys everything at full price including trophies
Could you be more specific mate I’ve been looking and I can’t find him.
