The Witcher board / digital versions of the game coming in 2014

CD Projekt RED joined up with Fantasy Flight Games in a release of all-new digital board game. In an extensive tutorial video on CD Projekt RED’s Youtube channel, rules, features and characters are given a detailed explanation. Progressing through the world, fighting monsters and special abilities are among the features of this adventure board game.

At the start of a game you choose a character. You can choose between Geralt of Rivia, Dandelion, Triss Merigold, Yarpen Zigrin, and each character has its own approach to tackling quests and explorations. While Geralt prefers the old brute force way, Dandelion likes to bargain with his opponents. The goal of the game is to collect as many victory points as possible through quests and side quests. If a player finishes his third quest one more turn will be granted to other players, after which, the game ends.

The physical board game version comes with:

• Learn to play guide and rules book
• Game board
• Four plastic heroes figurines & Four hero sheets
• Nine the Witcher dice
• Around 200 tokens
• Around 250 cards

The Witcher Adventure Game is available for pre-order as a physical boxed copy for $59.99 on the official Fantasy Flight Games website, while the digital version is available on GOG.com. There will be PC, Mac and iOS, iPads/Android Tablets versions. The game will be released sometimes in 2014, although the exact date of release has not been revealed yet.
