Activate the Greenhouse
To start this quest, you’ll need to get to the Greenhouse in Kaer Morhen. The easiest way to do that without getting lost is to follow the road heading south from Kaer Morhen, on the eastern bank of the river, until you get to a part of the road that is adjacent to an island in the middle of the river, south of the Iron Mine signpost. Then turn and head straight eastward; you’ll reach the Greenhouse after a fairly lengthy trek.
When you get there, you’ll see tree standing stones close to an alcove in the side of the mountain. Inside the alcove you’ll find some wolfsbane.
Use the Eye of Nehaleni to find a rock that is an illusion. Take the book that is hidden in it – it will tell you how to activate the three standing stones in order to change the weather.
Now cast Aard at each of the three stones. It will not do anything, but one of the standing stones will be activated. Then cast Igni at the other two stones and the weather will change slightly and a powerful chort will step out of a portal. You must now defeat it; consult your bestiary for information and tactics.
Once you’ve killed the chort, the weather will become pleasant enough to allow exotic herbs to grow there.
