How to Defeat Chaos Spawn in Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader

This is the first “real” battle in the game. Up until now, you’ve faced enemies that don’t really pose much of a threat to you or your team. But the Chaos Spawn is here to change that, and to give you your first taste of what’s to come. Now, there are several things that you need to be aware of here. The first important factor to consider is that the Chaos Spawn hits hard and has a lot of HP. As such, you should tie it up with a character that can take a beating – such as Abelard, your Seneschal.

Secondly, and this is vital – is that the Chaos Spawn is going to consume the nearby heretics in order to heal itself whenever it takes enough damage. As such, it’s vital that you first take these out. Otherwise, you are just wasting your ammo/melee/psyker powers on it. So spread out your team and kill all the Heretics as soon as you can. After that, concentrate all of your firepower on the Chaos Spawn. Without the ability to heal itself, it will go down very quickly. If you are playing on harder difficulty, the battle can take a couple of tries, but it’s definitely doable if you follow this strategy.
