Ymir Flesh - Valheim Trader Haldor
Ymir Flesh in Valheim is a valuable crafting material that you can only get from the trader Haldor. You need to get Ymir Flesh in order to craft high-level items, so figuring out where to find the trader Haldor is pretty important. Unfortunately, that can be pretty difficult. So, in our Ymir Flesh – Valheim Trader Haldor guide, we’ll show you where to find Ymir Flesh, how to find Haldor, and even how to sell to the trader.
Where to Find Ymir Flesh in Valheim
To find Ymir Flesh in Valheim, you have to find the special trader called Haldor in the Black Forest biome. At the time of writing, this is the only way to obtain this crafting material. Refresher in case you need it – you need to get Ymir Flesh in order to make higher-tier items, such as the Iron Sledgehammer and Frostner, the silver mace. So, you might be thinking, big deal, all I have to do is find a trader. How hard could that be? Well, as it turns out, finding Haldor is actually a way more difficult feat than you might expect, which brings us to our next point.
How to Find Valheim Trader Haldor
To find the trader Haldor in Valheim and get Ymir Flesh, you have to search for him in the Black Forest biome, as we’ve already said. The issue here is that Haldor appears to move around until you discover him for the first time. Basically, you have to comb through the Forest until you come close to the trader’s location. At that point, a small, white coin sack icon will pop up on your map, and from then on, you can always use it to find him again.
Now, some players have said that they’ve run into Haldor in Valheim while sailing along the shoreline of the Forest, but that might not be an option for you, depending on your map. A large number of people have said that Haldor has a tendency to spawn somewhere in the vicinity of the spawn point of the game’s second boss, The Elder. So, I’d say, the best advice is to start from the spawn point and slowly explore the biome in circles until that coin sack icon appears.
Now, Haldor sells more than just Ymir Flesh in Valheim. There’s several more very useful items in his store, including the fishing rod and bait. Here’s what you can buy at Haldor’s “emporium,” along with the prices.
- Yule Hat (100 Gold) – Just a fun hat
- Dverger Circlet (620 Gold) – Provides forward-facing light
- Megingjord (950 Gold) – Increases inventory carry weight from 300 to 450
- Ymir Flesh (120 Gold)
- Fishing Rod (350 Gold)
- Fishing Bait x50 (10 Gold)
How to Sell Items to Trader
To sell items to the Valheim trader Haldor, look in the bottom right corner of his item list. Immediately next to the Buy button, you’ll see a tiny coin icon with the word “Sell” on it. Click it, and you’ll have the option to sell your stacks of gems (Rubies), Amber, and Amber Pearls in exchange for more Coins. This can be pretty handy, considering that you might be a few bucks short of whatever you’re trying to purchase, like Ymir Flesh. Considering how difficult it is to find Haldor in the first place, the last thing you want is to have to go grind money and come back again.
