Valheim Wolf Armor
Wolf armor in Valheim is one of a number of different armors that you can craft and wear in the game, and it prevents you from freezing in extremely cold environments, such as the Mountain biome. Considering that there’s a lot of stuff to find in the mountains, people are wondering how to get the wolf armor. Well, as it turns out, you have to go through a series of steps to even unlock the crafting recipe. Even then, it won’t work in certain circumstances. If you’re having any trouble with this, our Valheim Wolf Armor guide is the right place for you.
When Can I Craft Wolf Armor?
You can craft Valheim wolf armor only once you’ve acquired Silver for the first time. To do that, you have to mine Silver, which appears in the Mountain biome; on top of that, you need to get an iron pickaxe in order to dig for silver. As everything else in Valheim, it comes with five sub-steps. Every piece of wolf armor requires a certain amount of Silver, along with various other items. These include wolf pelts, wolf fangs, the wolf trophy, etc. So, the biggest problem is figuring out how to keep warm in the mountains while you mine, such as campfires, the frost resistance mead, and the like.
How to Obtain Wolf Armor in Valheim
To obtain wolf armor in Valheim, as we’ve already pointed out, you have to discover silver. One thing that you can do to make things easier is to defeat the third boss, Bonemass. It drops the Magic Wishbone, which serves as a kind of silver detector. Specifically, it turns you green and beeps as you approach a vein of silver. Make sure to stock up on campfire materials and frost mead before heading into the mountains either way.
As for the wolf parts that you need to craft the Valheim armor, you can obviously get them by hunting them. Odds are, you’ll run into your fair share of wolves as you explore the mountains. Be very careful, since they hit like a freight train. Alternatively, you can tame them, if you want, as well as boars. If you want to know how, check out our Valhiem Taming Boars, Wolves guide.
How Not to Freeze While Wearing Wolf Armor?
To not freeze while wearing wolf armor in Valheim, you have to avoid getting wet. Some players have been noticing that they’re freezing, even though they are wearing the armor that’s supposed to keep them warm. Naturally, they’re thinking that it’s some type of bug. As it turns out, it’s just another sneaky feature of Valheim. See, if you’re wet, the pelts are simply not going to keep you warm. So, make sure to stay dry for the wolf armor to work. You can also employ some other methods of warming up; you can read more about that in our Valheim Warm Clothes – Mountain Freezing guide.
