Shortcut safe is a hidden loot cache in one of the areas of Seattle Day 2 in The Last of Us II. It’s part of a chapter we won’t discuss much for story reasons, and it’s not really hidden. It’s in a room in one of the buildings you have to pass through, but you might have trouble piecing the clues together and figuring out the code. That’s why we’ve written this guide, to show you the TLOU2 Shortcut safe combination & location in Seattle Day 2.

You’ll find the safe in the first building after you leave the collapsed highway. As you enter the first apartment, look for a door on the right. It leads into the bedroom, and the safe is next to the bed.

To figure out the combination, you should look for an artifact called Neighbour Exchange. It’s a note on the table with the whiteboard, in front of the bedroom. It’s an endearing exchange between stranded neighbors. It ends with a hint that says the combo is two apartment numbers spliced together. All you have to do is look at the number of the apartment you’re in, and find the other one. It’s on the same floor, and the names are written under the number.

The combination ends up being 30 23 04 (apartments 302 and 304). Once you’ve managed to open it, you’ll find the usual assortment of minor boons – ammo for the pistol and rifle, some crafting ingredients and scavenged parts. It’s not going to turn any heads, and it’s a far cry from finding a new training manual or weapon. Still, the supplies will come in handy. Especially on some of the higher difficulty settings.
