Last of Us 2 Pre-Order Bonuses & Special Editions Revealed
Along with the February 2020 launch date, Naughty Dog have revealed the pre-order bonuses, and various special editions of The Last of Us 2, both digital and physical. There’s Standard, Digital Deluxe, Collector’s and Ellie edition, and more. Each of them comes with different levels of digital and physical items. All for a price, naturally.
First off, the pre-order bonuses. If you pre-order any version of The Last of Us, you’ll instantly unlock an Ammo Capacity Upgrade for Ellie’s pistol, and the Crafting Training Manual, providing access to crafting recipes, upgrades, and the like. Those of you that pre-order a digital version, either the Standard or Digital Deluxe edition, will get the digital-exclusive PSN avatar of Ellie’s tattoo.
Next up, let’s go over the digital versions, of which there are two. The Standard Edition comes with the game only, same as the physical version, and costs the usual $60. The Digital Deluxe edition comes with several bonus digital items: a PS4 dynamic theme, a set of 6 PSN avatars, digital soundtrack, and a digital mini art book from Dark Horse. It’ll cost you $70.
Now for the extra editions of the physical variety. We begin our journey with the Special Edition. This one comes with a steelbook, and a physical, 48 page mini art book from Dark Horse. The digital bonuses in this version are the PS4 dynamic theme and six PSN avatars. The price? $80.
A step up from the Special Edition is the Collector’s Edition. Along with everything from the Special Edition, it includes a 12″ statue of Ellie playing the guitar, Ellie’s bracelet, a lithograph art print and a thank-you letter, five stickers, and six enamel pins. There’s also two extra digital items: the soundtrack and the mini art book. All of it comes with a significant price hike, standing strong at a price of $170.
Last, but absolutely not least, we have the Ellie Edition, pictured above. Naturally, it comes with everything from the Collector’s Edition. You also get Ellie’s backpack, a logo patch, and a 7″ vinyl record with music from the soundtrack. No additional digital items. Expect to shell out a whopping $230 for the pleasure.
Oh, and every version comes with a copy of the game. You’d think that’s obvious and a given, but it absolutely is not. Anyway, as we’ve recently learned, The Last of Us Part 2 is coming out on February 21st, 2020. As you’d expect, it’s gonna be a PlayStation 4 exclusive.
