The Last of Us 2 Gets New Release Date in Mid-June

It’s no secret that we’re living in very uncertain times. One of the consequences of self-isolating and people working from home is that many projects have to be postponed. And, of course, it’s better that a video game comes out a bit later than COVID-19 raging through the world’s population more than it already is. It definitely won’t launch on time if the coronavirus dropkicks the entire development team. But, enough of my prattling, let’s get into the meat of the matter.

One of the “casualties” of COVID-related rescheduling was The Last of Us 2. A little while ago, it was even delayed indefinitely, dashing many a hope that we’ll have the chance to witness the second chapter of the franchise any time soon. Well, luckily, we won’t have to wait too long. According to a post on PlayStation Blog, The Last of Us Part 2 will come out on Friday, June 19th, 2020. And, for a little bit of extra good news, we also have a new launch date for Ghost of Tsushima. That’s gonna release on Friday, July 17th, 2020.

Before we wrap up, I just want to extend my congratulations to the hard-working people of both Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch Productions for managing to pull their projects across the finish line in circumstances this adverse. And also, I know you probably aware of this, but be mindful of Last of Us 2 spoilers that are popping up all over the place. And just stay safe in general; stay inside if you can, and wash your hands.
