Legendary Capoeira Master, Eddy Gordo, has been confirmed for Tekken 7

Already announced in January, Tekken 7 pre-order DLC is said to contain Vampire Eliza. This time, Bandai Namco Entertainment lists Eddy Gordo to the list of characters, this time without the need to buy any DLC. He shows off some of his moves in a special reveal trailer on their official Youtube channel.

The legendary Capoeira fighter, Eddy Gordo, in the somewhat complicated Tekken lore, seeks revenge against the Mishima family. Mishima Zaibatsu, the multinational corporation failed to save the life of Eddy’s master, which he cannot forgive. In order to make them pay, he is willing to go against Kazuya Mishima and the other families.

Since he holds the title of the Legendary Capoeira Master, it goes without saying that his fighting style is that of the Brazilian martial art. He shares this title with his student, granddaughter of his late master, Christie Monteiro. Eddy swore to his old master that he would pass the art to her after he was released from prison. Later on, he fought in the King of the Iron Fist Tournament, and the two of them share a scene at the ending of Tekken 6, at the grave of his master and her grandfather.

Tekken 7’s release date has already been moved once and is scheduled for June 2, 2017. This drew a lot of ire from the fans, but the game seems to be arriving right on schedule. Well, there is a steady influx on information regarding playable characters, at least.
