All Starfield Skill Magazines, Books, and Bonuses
Before we continue, a short disclaimer. This guide is currently a work in progress and it is not complete. We’ve just started playing the game, and hence, we are still discovering new locations and secrets. As we progress through the game, we will make sure to regularly update this guide. We will add new locations with Starfield Skill Magazines and provide information on where exactly to find them, as well as what kind of bonuses they bestow upon players. With that said, let’s continue.
Skill Magazines in Starfield are items that give players various benefits. For example, they can grant you permanent buffs to various statists, or reduce some negative effects. They can also give you extra Skill Points to spend them however you like. There are various skill magazines, and they all come in series of several issues. Some magazines will give you different bonuses with different issues, while other the same bonus for every issue. Some magazines will always be at the same place, usually around the main quests and handcrafted locations. On the other hand, many other issues will be randomly placed across the universe of Starfield. With that said, check out the full list of Starfield Skill Magazines and their buffs

Starfield Skill Magazine Constellation Guide 01 Location
The very first magazine in Starfield is really hard to miss. Namely, once you reach the New Atlantis, the main quest will send you to the Lodge in the Mast district. That’s where the headquarters of the Constellation are. While you have a conversation with Sarah, you’ll notice that the magazine is right behind her, on a ceramic bar table. Check out the image below for the exact location. This one provides you with a permanent 5% reduction on fall damage.

Starfield Skill Magazine Peak Performance 05 Location
We’ve located Peak Performance 05 inside the Crimson Fleet base called The Key. This space station orbits the planet Suvorov in the Kryx System. You’ll find it in the Gym section of the base, but you’ll first have to get access to the base itself. For this you need to get recruited by the Crimson Fleet.
Starfield Skill Magazine Grunt Issue 04 Location
Found on a corner table inside the Last Nova bar inside The Keys pirate space station. You have to be friendly with the Crimson Fleet to be able to dock here and explore the place. There’s a UC Vanguard mission that can also lead you here.
Starfield Skill Magazine Kryx’s Journal Entry 04 Location

Nova Galactic Manual 02 Location
You’ll visit Nova Galactic Staryard in the Sol system as part of the main story mission, “The Old Neighbourhood”. To find the magazine, reach the ship inside the Staryard, where you will find the note from Moara. The room containing the magazine is above. Find it by backtracking a bit to the main Control room and going upstairs towards the Workroom and then right until you reach the room with the magazine.
Kryx’s Journal Entry 01 Location
We’ve found this one inside the Ransacked Research Outpost on planet Bessel III in the Bessel System. You’ll visit this place as part of the main story quest “Back to Vectera”. Before you are to talk to There are a few weapon crates in the room before the one with Barret and the magazine is right next to it on a wooden pallet.

You’ll search for Andreja on the planet Neoi in the Olympus System. For this, you’ll have to visit the Abandoned Mine POI. This magazine can be found on any planet with this same POI. During the “Into the Unknown ” main story mission, you want to check out the outside hub with an airlock to find the magazine on the desk.
Mining Monthly Issue 08 Location
The “Into the Unknown” main story mission will send you to two random spots in the galaxy. I got sent to Piazzi IV-c to visit another abandoned mine POI. I did not find a magazine outside this abandoned mine, but I did find one inside. As you explore and go into the cave complex, look out for a corpse next to a very well hidden in the dark door. After lockpicking the door, I found the magazine inside on the table.
Grunt Issue 08 Location
There’s a derelict space station orbiting Maheo V in the Maheo System that contains a magazine. I am not sure if you can just find it, because it does not show up on the map initially. I revealed it by doing a side mission for the Lopez’s Farm. If you go to Maheo II you should get a distress signal. After you land on Lopez’s farm you get a quest. The end leads you to the Derelict Starstation. The magazine is on the table in the main control room where you fight a bunch of spacers and their captain.
Constellation Guide 03 Location
To get this magazine, you have to progress your relationship with Sarah Morgan, the first companion you get in the game. After having enough conversations with her, she’ll give you a quest called In Memoriam that takes you to the planet Cassiopeia I. You have to keep doing the quest until the point where you reach Soma and the magazine is inside her house on the table. The POI on Cassiopeia I you’re looking for is Dauntless Crew’s crash site. We don’t think you can see it unless you progress the companion quest.
UC Defense Manual 05 Location
The magazine was found inside a random appearing point of interest on planets called Abandoned Robotics Facility. Enter the building at the POI, and you should find it in the control room. These random spawning points of interest on planets can have a slightly different layout and can appear on multiple planets. If you missed the magazine on one planet, it can still be picked up on another. I found mine on Guniibuu I, where there was a Civilian Outpost POI that had a random side mission to clear out the Abandoned Robotics Facility nearby.
Nova Galactic Manual 01
Progress during the In Memoriam companion quest with Sarah Morgan will take you to Cassiopeia I planet in the Eta Cassiopeia system. You will get a special POI on the planet called Sarah’s crash site. Land there and go towards the crashed shuttle. You’ll have to do a few things to get access to the wreckage as part of the side quest. Once inside you’ll find the magazine on the floor towards the back of the shuttle.
Nova Galactic Manual 03
Going to the MAST district in New Atlantis on Andromeda lets you explore the MAST building. It houses various political and military offices of the United Colonies. Go inside the elevator behind the receptionist and visit the Cabinet Chambers/ Interstellar Affairs floor. As you exit the elevator, turn left and then immediately left again to go inside the office of Interstellar Affairs. Keep going until you reach the last office to find the magazine on a table.
Do we need to carry these around for it to work or can we just drop them and still get the buff?
In previous Bethesda gaves you just had to read them once
