How to Sell Starfield Contrabands Easily Without Cargo Shields
First, let’s see how Contraband works in the game. These are items that are different from stolen ones. While stolen items have a red icon next to them, Contraband is marked yellow. If you’re wondering where to find Contrabands, you can come across it in contraband chests and in pirate and mercanery ships. Then, when you fly your ship to a major settlement, your ship is going to be scanned and the contraband is discovered, you could go to jail. The first thing that you can do to avoid this is to invest in the Deception skill. Though, like every social skill in the game, there is always the chance that you will fail when using it. There’s always the Contraband Shields, but these are expensive. So you will need a more reliable way to sell your Contrabands in Starfield.
This comes in the form of Trade Authority. These shops will buy anything, including Contrabands. And by far, the best Starfield Trade Authority location to sell Contrabands can be found on The Den. It can be found on Chtonia in the Wolf System. The reason why this is such a great place to get rid of your Contraband is because there are no scan checkpoints there. Which means that you can fly there without any fear of getting arrested or paying a fine. As such, it is by far the best spot where you can sell your Contrabands early in the game, and without relying on expensive Cargo Shields.
What to Do if Trade Authority Doesn’t Have Enough Credits to Buy Contrabands in Starfield
The only problem when you are smuggling Contraband in Starfield and want to sell it to Trade Authority such as the one in The Den is the fact that they don’t have a lot of Credits. And since Contrabands can be sold for a lot of Credits, this means that you won’t be able to sell everything you have. The solution here is to wait. For example, by sleeping in a bed for 48 hours. After that, the shop’s inventory (and Credits) are going to refresh, and you will then be able to continue selling off your illegal Contraband in Starfield.
