Fighter Squadron Mode Guide | Star Wars: Battlefront
Fighter Squadron is a dogfighting mode in Star Wars: Battlefront. It lets up to 20 players fly TIE Fighters and Interceptors, X-Wings and A-Wings in a large scale aerial battle.
The rebel ships have a shield ability that lets them ignore a certain amount of damage when they’re in a twist. Empire ships are equipped with a speed boost that lets them escape hairy situations. Both are armed with blasters and missiles – the latter on a cooldown timer, so you won’t be able to spam them.
There are power-ups scattered around the maps, usually in hard to reach places. They can provide you with faster ship repairs, shorter cooldowns on weapons and abilities and other bonuses.
There are also special Hero Starfighter pick-ups, which let you fly a couple of iconic ships – the rebels can call upon the Millennium Falcon this way, while the Empire has Slave-1 at their disposal. They are present only for a limited time, but deal massive damage to regular combat ships.
In this guide, we’re going to show you how to play Fighter Squadron in Star Wars: Battlefront.
How to win at Fighter Squadron
In order to win, a team has to get to 200 kills. The sky will be littered with AI ships as well, to make it more crowded. While you’re learning the ropes, you can stick with chasing down the AI fighters, but you’ll want to move on to living targets soon. Transport ships will appear from time to time, and you’ll have to either attack of defend them for extra points. The rebel ships have a shield ability that lets them ignore a certain amount of damage when they’re in a twist.
