Skyrim Pregnant Skeleton Location
The Skyrim Pregnant Skeleton location is a place that’s fairly desolate and off the beaten path. If you do visit it, what you’ll find is what appears to be the remains of a pregnant woman and a fetus. It’s a grim bit of storytelling, and not much more than a curiosity. Still, if you want to know where to find the pregnant skeleton in Skyrim, then this guide is the right place for you.
Where to Find Pregnant Skeleton in Skyrim
To find the location of the pregnant skeleton in Skyrim, you need to go to the area called Labyrinthian. This is an ancient Nord settlement that now lies in ruin. You can find it southeast of Morthal, just to the northeast of Delas’ Cottage. You’ll visit the location during the Staff of Magnus College of Winterhold questline. To get to the pregnant skeleton specifically, you need to go to the right of the Word Wall and find a pile of rocks. The thing you’re looking for should be on top of said pile. What you’re looking for, basically, is an adult skeleton with a child-sized one lying where the stomach used to be.
Now, there are several competing theories as to what exactly is going on here, as in is it a bit of visual storytelling or not. If it was intentional, then there are two possible implications. The first one is that the person was pregnant when they died, and what you’re seeing here are the remains of a fetus. However, when you get to the Skyrim pregnant skeleton location, you’ll see that the smaller body definitely looks more developed than a fetus, especially the skull. So, the more likely explanation is that the woman died holding a newborn baby, and then gravity just caused the child’s remains to slide down.
Personally, I subscribe to the latter theory, but it’s up to you to decide when you see the scene for yourself. The third theory is that the developers just shrunk an adult skeleton model and just put it there without diving too deep into specifics. Again, that’ll be entirely up to you to figure out.
