Resident Evil Village Second Trailer Released, Reveals More Story

Capcom have released the second trailer for the eight main installment in the RE series: Resident Evil Village. It sees the return of Ethan and Mia, the protagonists from the previous game, and their continuing nightmare. After they barely survived the events of Resident Evil VII, their lives are once again in jeopardy, as they’re thrown into the titular village, the forest around it, and the giant spooky castle that overlooks it. This is all sounding a little familiar, isn’t it?

Resident Evil Village Second Trailer Released, Reveals More Story

If you’re a fan of Resident Evil as a series and / or franchise, you might have noticed something from the opening paragraph. RE Village sounds a lot like Resident Evil 4, right? Well, if you take a look at the trailer below, the comparisons make themselves. The entire village is a cult, there’s a cartoonishly large and spooky castle… heck, the place even looks like a remake of the one from 4. The trailer’s ending prominently features a merchant, for Pete’s sake. It’s not the creepy dude from Rezzie 4, but still, same principle.

So, what exactly happens in Resident Evil 8? Well, as the game’s official website puts it: “Years after the tragic events of Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, Ethan Winters has started over with his wife Mia, finally living in peace and putting the past behind them. However, Chris Redfield, the legendary hero from previous Resident Evil games, suddenly disrupts their life, throwing a devastated Ethan into a new and twisted nightmare in search of answers.” That’s all we got so far, but what more do you need? There’s monsters need a-shootin’, go!

One thing I absolutely have to mention about the trailer is just how good Resident Evil Village looks. Everyone we see is amazing; humans, monsters, buildings, weather effects, all of it stunning. Everything is gross and decrepit and threatening. I loved every second of it. I can’t wait to play this game.
