How to repair your weapon in Red Dead Redemption 2?

To repair your weapons in RDR 2, simply open up the weapon wheel, hover over the one you want to clean and press the right analogue stick. This will allow you to inspect the gun – now all you need to do is press square on PS4 (X on Xbox) to clean it using gun oil.

It can be done literally anywhere, so there’s no need to visit a specialized shop or anything. When you inspect the weapon, the game will tell you whether it requires maintenance. Just make sure you have the gun oil.

Where to find gun oil in RDR2?

You can buy gun oil from pretty much any gunsmith. Those in major towns will always have it in stock (the guy in Valentine certainly does). Go into the shop and start browsing the wares, then open up the accessories tab. You’ll find it there, and it’ll set you back $1.5 or so.

It’s probably a good idea to keep a few cans of gun oil in your saddlebags at all times, and another one or two in your satchel. Since you’ll have to rely only a handful of weapons at any one time, it’s better to make sure they won’t just stop working in the middle of a fight.

Is it, or should it be, possible to clean/repair worn weapons, taken from NPC’s?
