To find the Van Horn Mansion in Red Dead Redemption 2, you’re gonna have to go way east of New Hanover. You can get there by going south from Annesburg, to Van Horn Trading Post. From there, keep going south, and you’re gonna come across the Van Horn mansion. Now, calling this place a mansion is being really charitable. It’s just a house; it just looks a little bit better than most of the other places. Plus, it definitely looks like it’s in a state of disrepair.

What’s important to note here is that this homestead stash might be missable, so you wanna go and get it as soon as the area opens up for you. Apparently, they might disappear after you’ve completed the story, so don’t dilly-dally. Now that you’re there, let’s see how to get the homestead stash itself.

Van Horn Mansion Red Dead Redemption 2 Homestead Stash Location

Finding the Van Horn Mansion homestead stash is fairly simple, but some cunning does come into it. For starters, the best way to approach it is at night. Both residents of the house should be asleep. Use camping to speed up time if you need to. Then, enter the house through the door facing the woods, and sneak down the stairs. You’ll find the two ne’er-do-wells sleeping there. For us, one was at the table, and the other on the floor.

The homestead stash in Van Horn Mansion is basically the pile of money on the table. Now, as soon as you try to grab the money, the bandits will wake up and start shooting. So, the best way to approach is as stealthily as possible to get the jump on them. Kill them as soon as possible, and help yourself to everything from the house, including the money. Should be fifty bucks there. Not bad, considering you’re not gonna go through too much headache.
