Red Dead Redemption 2 will be used to feature Project Scorpio in the coming weeks
Microsoft seems to be ready to showcase the upgraded console they have been working on since last year, Project Scorpio. This should be coming in the next few weeks and one of the titles will be Red Dead Redemption 2.
We have recently talked about Red Dead Redemption 2, and there are some hints that the game will be coming out this autumn. The notion that it will be shown on Project Scorpio is a sold proof that this might be true. Unfortunately, there is still no news regarding the PC version. Knowing Rockstar, it might be coming next year at some point.
Project Scorpio is Microsoft’s answer to PS4 Pro and it should run games at “native 4k” or “true 4k”, whereas the Sony console is using the checkerboard engine to “upscale” games. Truth be told, due to the high pixel density of 4k screens, the difference might prove hard to notice. Still, Microsoft went a bit low on specs last time around, and this time they are making sure they are ahead of the competition. Scorpio should have at its disposal 4.5 times more raw power than Xbox One, and it will support 4k Blu-ray, unlike Sony’s consoles.
Other games that will be included in the presentation will include Madden 2017, Fifa 7, Star Wars: Battlefront 2 and a Call of Duty title, which some suggest might be the new World War 2 game. Forza Motorsport 7 will also be featured, as one of the somewhat rare Microsoft exclusives out there. From what we know from earlier is that Middle Earth: Shadow of War will also be playable on Project Scorpio. Its release date is August 22nd, so the game will definitely have enough time to be ready for Scorpio’s autumn release.
