Red Dead Redemption 2 Online Beta Announced for November

The fact that Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to have online multiplayer is old news. In fact, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if a bunch of people end up buying the game specifically because of the online aspect. Well, thanks to a recent announcement on the Rockstar website, we now have a launch window for the service, called Red Dead Online. It’s going to start some time in November 2018. Initially, it’s going to be a public beta and move on from there, and access will be free for all that have RDR2. The post does foresee possible turbulence when Red Dead Online launches, and they’re counting on the community to help them “fix teething problems and work with us to develop Red Dead Online into something really fun and innovative.”

Now, what exactly can we expect in Red Dead Online? Well, the post doesn’t go into detail, for obvious reasons. They do mention that it’s going to be an evolution of the multiplayer seen in the first Red Dead Redemption, “blending narrative with competitive and cooperative gameplay in fun new ways.” You’ll be able to experience Red Dead Online alone or with friends, and you can expect a bunch of updates and adjustments to keep things fresh. We’ll be sure to update you with further details as they come out.

As for the game itself, Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming out on October 26th, 2018. You’ll be able to pick it up on Xbox one and PlayStation 4. Sadly, there’s no news of a possible PC version as of now.
