RDR2 Online Moonshine Delivery Tips - Complete Without Damage
Moonshine deliveries are the bread and butter of any aspiring moonshiner in Red Dead Online. They’re a great way to earn money, at least on paper. In practice, a lot of folks are unhappy because even the slightest damage to the shipment results in harsh financial penalties. If you want to make as much money as possible, this guide will show you how to complete moonshine deliveries without damage in RDR2 Online.
How to complete moonshine deliveries without damage?
There are many ways to complete a moonshine delivery, but we’ve found only one that results in no damage to the shipment. First of all, make sure you have a good long range weapon, preferably a scoped rifle. If you’re looking to maximize your profits, you should complete all the missions first – this increases the value of your moonshine deliveries.
The first issue you have to solve is the damage from bumps and ridges. The best way to go around this is by staying on the road and driving relatively slowly. Driving in cinematic mode is the perfect way to pull this off. Get up on the cart and pull out your guns. Look down at the ground, but don’t aim down sights – just point the camera down. Activate cinematic mode (V on PC, touchpad on PS4), and then hold down the run button (Shift on PC, X on PS4). The wagon should start moving on its own. Some say this completely negates the damage from road conditions – we don’t know that for sure, but it definitely minimizes it. If you see the wheel icon at the top of the screen blink, stop the wagon – this means the shipment is about to take damage.
The other issue you have to deal with are the checkpoints. You’re supposed to go there for inspection. If the law doesn’t find the contraband, you’re golden – if they do, your shipment is bound to take damage. Whenever you see one – and you’ll spot the red circle on the minimap before you spot the roadblock – get off the wagon, take a few steps away from it, then pull out your long range weapon and start picking them off. It’s more work than trying to pass inspection, but there’s no luck involved.
Once you’ve cleared all the enemies, get back to the wagon and continue auto-driving towards your destination. When riders attack you, simply take back control of the camera and deal with them. If there’s too many to safely handle from the cart, jump off and put some distance between you and it – that way you’ll protect the liquor. The same method can be used for any resistance you might encounter at the point of delivery – just deal with enemies away from the wagon.
