Leather working tools are an item in Red Dead Redemption 2. If you want Pearson to craft you all those fancy things he offers, you’ll need to provide him with a set of tools. However, you might have trouble obtaining these, as the game doesn’t do a great job of explaining where to look for them. In this guide, we’re going to show you where to find leather working tools in Red Dead Redemption 2.
How to get leather working tools in RDR2?
It may seem like the kind of thing a fence sells, or even a trapper. You might expect to find a crafting pamphlet that lets you make the tools on your own. Or even a request to find them, like with Dutch’s pipe and Jack’s comic books. That’s not the case, though. You’ll need to spend a fistful of dollars on them, but you can buy them at the one place you wouldn’t expect – your camp.
Go to the camp and approach the ledger. Once it’s open, flip over to the last page. One of the entries there will be the leather working tools. You’ll need to shell out $180 for them, which may seem like a lot, but keep in mind a pair of sticks you tie your horses to costs $240 and be happy you got these artisanal tools so cheap.
Once you have the tools, you will be able to ask Pearson to craft more advanced stuff. It’s a worthwhile investment – most of the camp upgrades are, actually – but it’s an odd choice to put the tools there. Especially when you have to buy crafting pamphlets from fences and such. It’s weird to have this stuff not concentrated in one place. Guess we’ll just write it off as a mistake from overworked staff.
