The lantern in RDR2 is one of the important tools you have at your disposal in the game. Red Dead Redemption 2 provides you with a lantern, but locating where it is can be a bit convoluted. You can find it fairly easily if you explore your on-foot inventory a bit. Where to find Lantern in RDR2?

To find the lantern in Red Dead Redemption 2, go into your inventory by pressing and holding L1. The next step is to go to the bottom right part of the inventory wheel. That’s where the knife is by default. Once you highlight this section, use L2 or R2 (or whatever your Xbox equivalent is), until you get to the lantern. When you get there, close the menu, and Arthur is going to pull out the lantern. You can do this at any time in the game; you don’t have to be in your horse.

As for how exactly you get the lantern, the game will automatically provide you with one. You don’t have to worry about that all. The only thing you have to know is how to find it in your inventory. This will be of vital importance if you’re trying to accomplish something during the night, or if you decide that you want to explore a cave.
