Red Dead Redemption 2 How to Change Outfits & Clothes
Clothes maketh the cowboy, at least in Red Dead Redemption 2. They allow you to customize your character, making Arthur look just the way you want him to. They also have a practical role – you’ll need to change outfits to fit the weather, or else you’ll get penalties on some of your cores. With all that in mind, a lot of players are having trouble because they don’t know where they can change clothes. This guide will try to help by showing how to change outfits in Red Dead Redemption 2.
How to change clothes in RDR 2?
In order to change clothes in Red Dead Redemption 2, all you have to do is find a wardrobe. It’s easier said than done, apparently. You can find one in every hotel, and there’s even one in your camp. The game obviously does a poor job of explaining this, despite the constant tutorial popups.
The wardrobe in your camp is in Arthur’s tent, at the foot of the bed. It looks like a regular trunk. When you approach it, you’ll get the prompt to change clothes, which takes you to the customization screen. This is where you’ll be able to choose between premade outfits and single pieces of clothing, with a nice preview of how it’ll look on Arthur as well as the amount of protection from the elements each outfit offers.
You can also favorite certain outfits, which lets you change them on the fly. Once you’ve customized (and saved) and outfit, you can press square (X on Xbox) to store it on your horse. Afterwards, you can open up the weapon wheel, then use R1 (RB) the get to the horse wheel, and look at the bottom for your saved outfits. This allows you to change while away from a wardrobe.
