Red Dead Redemption 2 Equip Bandana Bug - Horse Flesh For Dinner

Missing bandana bug is a problem you might encounter in Red Dead Redemption 2. It’s a glitch that sometimes happens in the Horse Flesh for Dinner mission. You’ll be asked to disguise yourself using your bandana, but it won’t be available in the weapon wheel. The game will instruct you to do something, and following its instructions will yield nothing. How to equip bandana in RDR2?

After you beat up the farmer in the Horse Flesh for Dinner mission, John will tell you to put on your bandana. The game will offer you the prompt to equip bandana by pressing L1 (LB). Pressing the button will open the weapons wheel, but the bandana might not show up there. At first, we tried going back to the horse and checking out the horse wheel as well, but it wasn’t there.

Luckily, there’s a workaround. You’ll need to equip the bandana from the inventory. Open your satchel and navigate to the Kit tab (third from the right). You’ll find the bandana there. Select it and press X (A on Xbox) to equip it. This will allow you to continue the quest.

This is probably just a problem with this particular mission. We’ve never experience anything like it before or after said mission, but it was an unpleasant few minutes while we tried to figure out what we were doing wrong. Turns out it wasn’t our fault, but the game’s. After we managed to equip the bandana, everything went smoothly and the quest was over in no time. This solution could probably be applied to any similar problem, where an item that should be accessible through the weapon wheel suddenly disappears from it.
