How to Access Crown Tundra
Crown Tundra is the second piece of DLC for Pokemon Sword & Shield. It takes place in the frozen forests of the eponymous tundra, and it’s being released today. Lots of players are wondering how exactly to obtain the new DLC, and how to reach the new area. If you’re one of them, this guide will show you how to access Crown Tundra in Pokemon Sword & Shield, and why Crown Tundra is not downloading.
How to get to Crown Tundra?
In order to go to the Crown Tundra region in Pokemon Sword & Shield, you’ll have to travel to Wedgehurst and take a train from there. This means you won’t be able to start the DLC story until you’ve reached Wedgehurst in the main campaign. Once you successfully install The Crown Tundra, a notification will appear on your screen and you’ll also get a Crown Pass.
Once you disembark, you’ll meet an NPC who’ll lead you through the new area. They’ll show you the sights and give you something to occupy you during the early hours, to help you learn the ropes.
How to get Crown Tundra DLC?
In order to visit the snowy new place, you’ll first need the corresponding DLC. At this point, there’s no way to buy Crown Tundra on its own. The only way to get it is by purchasing the Expansion Pass, which contains both DLCs. If you have it, as soon as the DLC goes live, the game will prompt you to install it.
It costs $30, and you need to make sure you get the right one – there are apparently separate expansion passes for the Sword version and the Shield version, and getting the wrong one will leave you with no way to access the content.
In summary, all you have to do in order to start catching those snowy pokemon is buy the expansion pass, install the DLC and head on over to Wedgehurst, then take the train to Crown Tundra.
Crown Tundra not downloading
As we already know, the latest Pokemon Sword & Shield DLC Crown Tundra will release on October 22nd, but many players reported that they can’t download it yet. The main problem is that we still don’t know when Crown Tundra will be available. At first players thought that release time will be based on Nintendo eShop usual update around 09:00 Pacific Time / noon Eastern Time / 15:00 British Summer Time / 16:00 Central European Time, but it turned out to be wrong idea. Thus, we are still waiting for any official announcement.
Hey guys I had the same problem didnt receive the crown pass. If you go to the eshop and redownload the content and than start up again it worked for me and I got the crown pass. Hopes this helps I know I was mad.
How do you redownload the DLC, it doesn’t come up when I go to “Redownload” in the nintendo eshop?

Yeah, no one can. This is a terribly misleading title and there is absolutely NO helpful information provided here.
Neither can I.
Same, it looks like it hasn’t been released yet, despite today being release day.
According to everything I’ve seen it should have gone live an hour ago and I still haven’t been able to get it to start.
Same
