Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Sun Stone Locations

Evolution is one of the most important things you need to consider regarding your Pokemon. Some Pokemon evolve when they reach a certain level, some require that you trade them, while others will only evolve if you give them a certain item. The Sun Stone is one such item. Naturally, it is available in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet as well. Though, to be able to use it there, you will first need to find it. To help you out with this, we’re going to show you the Sun Stone locations in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet right here in this guide.

Where to Find Sun Stone in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

The in-game description for the Sun Stone states that it is: “A peculiar stone that can make certain species of Pokemon evolve. It burns as red as the evening sun.” Admittedly, this doesn’t provide us with a whole lot of information to go off of. While we still haven’t done everything there is to do in the game (like most Pokemon games, Scarlet and Violet is very big, with a lot of side-content), there is one area where we managed to find several of them. The area in question is the Asado Desert. We have marked the locations where we found the Sun Stones in our screenshot gallery below.

As you can see, they look like little glints in the sand. As such, they can be very difficult to make out, especially if there is a lot of sand flying around – as it often does in that area. The best thing to do here is to take your time and pick up everything you see on the ground. One of these objects is bound to be the Sun Stone. Once you use it to evolve a Pokemon, it will be used up. This requires that you find another Sun Stone if you want to evolve a different Pokemon with it.

Thank you!!! I thought I was doomed to never get another sun stone to complete my Dex. Every other page I’ve visited just says ‘randomly dropped from sparkles’, as soon as I went to the desert I got it straight away ??
