Catch Ditto Early in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
It’s safe to say that, even in a franchise filled with all sorts of unique and interesting Pokemon, Ditto stands out. This Normal-type is anything but, as it can assume the look of other Pokemon, including their abilities. Because of this, it is also known as the Transformation Pokemon. Though, as it can look like every Pokemon, finding it in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet can take a lot of guesswork. First, there’s the matter of Ditto’s location. Secondly, how can you even tell it apart from the other Pokemon once you’ve found it? We are going to explain everything you need to know about how to catch Ditto early on in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet right here.
How to Get Ditto in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
You will be able to encounter Ditto early in West Province (Area Two) and West Province (Area Three). We have marked the location where we found Ditto in the screenshot gallery below. However, the problem here is that, even if you do run into a Ditto, you may not be aware of it. Naturally, this is because of its transformation abilities. So how do you get it to reveal itself so that you can catch it?
Well, there are a couple of ways to go about this. The first method is to battle the Pokemon in this area and hope you get lucky enough to find a Ditto there. Also, there’s always a chance that you will discover an untransformed Ditto out in the open, but the odds of this happening are low, since it is usually transformed. The last method, and the one that we definitely recommend, is that you hold ZL to aim when you encounter Pokemon in these areas. Doing this will cause the name of the Pokemon and its level to appear over its head – thus revealing which one of them is really a Ditto in disguise.
Ther is also another easy way that guarantees you’ll get it even earlier. First, go to the Poke Center in Porto Marinada. From there, head to the Medali Poke Center, via West Province (Area 2) and West Province (Area 3). Craft a Ham Sandwich (ingredients: Mayonaise, Mustard, Pickle, and Ham), as this makes more Ditto appear. With this, a Ditto will appear in the first turn of a battle with any of these random Pokemon found on this route. A great way to catch Ditto very early on in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
