To evolve Meltan into Melmetal in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee, you’re going to need your Pokemon GO account. Because, as it turns out, you can’t evolve Melmetal from Meltan in Pokemon Let’s Go directly. Before we begin, we have to point out that evolving Melmetal requires a staggering 400 Meltan Candies. You can use Rare Candies as substitutes and walk with Meltan as your Buddy, but still, that’s a lot. How do you get all those Candies? Unfortunately, the same way you got a Meltan in the first place – the Mystery Box. Long story short, you have to transfer a Pokemon from Pokemon Go to Pokemon Let’s Go to earn the mystery box. Open it, and a whole bunch of Melmetal will escape and scatter around. You then have half an hour to catch as many of them as you can.
After the time limit is up, send all of the Meltans you got to the professor, trade with friends, or send them to Pokemon Let’s Go to earn Meltan Candy. If you haven’t got enough, you can do the whole Mystery Box thing again in a week’s time, which is pretty rough. Once you have 400, use them to evolve your Meltan into a Melmetal. The only thing left to do from there is to transfer your Melmetal from your Pokemon Go account to your game of Let’s Go Pokemon Pikachu & Eevee.
