Pokemon GO Trading Disabled
Trading is often a very important mechanic in video games. This is especially true for the Pokemon franchise, where often the only way you can acquire certain Pokemon is by trading with other players. Of course, Pokemon GO is no different in this regard. And this is precisely why the news that the Trading system has been disabled in Pokemon GO has left so many players confused and annoyed. There have been many questions over whether or not this is a permanent change and why it has happened. So, if you want to find out exactly why the Pokemon GO Trading has been Disabled, keep on reading.
Why is Trade Button Gone Pokemon GO
The reason why the Trading system has been removed from Pokemon GO is due to some sort of unspecified issue. Apparently, players from different regions have been reporting that they have been getting crashes when they tried to use the trading function. Besides this, it also appears that, shortly before the Trading was disabled, players experienced a strange glitch. This caused all the Pokemon which they traded to be Lucky Pokemon. Understandably, news of this glitch quickly spread among the Pokemon GO community. Many players abused this exploit to get hundreds of Lucky Pokemon that way.
Lucky Pokemon differ from normal ones in that they have great IVs and they also cost half of Stardust to power up. Normally, there is only a 5% chance that a trade will result in a Lucky Pokemon. In any case, developer Niantic is usually quick to fix problems such as these. They are aware of the problem and are no doubt working fast to resolve it. Also, they usually strive to make it up to players for unexpected problems like this, so we can expect some sort of compensation because of this in the near future.
Trainers, trading is currently unavailable as we investigate an issue. We apologize for the inconvenience, and will continue to update here. Thank you for your patience.
