Without further ado, let’s go through what Niantic has in store for the third anniversary of Pokemon Go, as per the official announcement. First off, starting on June 28th at 1 PM PDT, you’ll have a higher chance to capture the following Shiny Alolan Pokemon: Rattata, Sandshrew, Vulpix, Diglett, Meowth, Geodude, Grimer, and Exeggutor. Also, in the Style Shop, you can buy avatar items that evoke “team leaders’ personal styles,” in case you really place a lot of emphasis on your team allegiance.

Next up, from June 28th at 1 PM PDT to July 6th (also 1 PM PDT), you’ll be able to catch an old favorite that’s making a comeback. Once a day, when taking a GO Snapshot photo, you’ll have a chance to encounter Pikachu wearing a party hat. On top of that, party hat Pichu will be hatching from seven kilometer Eggs so if you’re lucky, you might get one.

Last, but not least, there will be three features that will span from June 28th at 1 PM PDT all the way to September 2nd. During this time, you’ll have reduced Stardust costs for trading; reduced by a quarter, to be exact. Also, Raid Bonuses. More specifically, you’ll be able to earn “extra bonus Premier Balls” to catch Raid Bosses. And then we come to boosting Research progress. While the event lasts, you’ll have Special Research missions. These will reward you with items to “jump-start their new or continuing adventures.” This will be available to Level 10 trainers and above.
