Can Roggenrola be Shiny in Pokemon GO

Yes, Roggenrola can absolutely be shiny in Pokemon GO in 2022. In fact, that has been the case since August 2020, if memory serves. There was no shiny version when Roggenrola first arrived in January 2022, but Niantic “fixed” that after a couple of months. To make matters even better, the shiny Roggenrola is easy to distinguish from its regular counterpart. Its body is a dark purple instead of dark blue, the “eye” in the middle is orange instead of yellow, and its feet and “hair” are gray, where they’re yellow in the normal version. So, unless you have some problems with seeing color, you should be able to tell them apart with little trouble. You can see what the shiny looks like in the image above, just in case you need a visual reference.

So, with all that said, how can you actually get a shiny Roggenrola in Pokemon GO in 2022? Well, as far as I understand it, it has a spawn rate on par with shiny variants of other Pokemon. That is to say, it’s exceptionally rare. Makes sense; the whole point of having rare versions is that they’re, well, rare. However, there are certain events that can increase the spawn rate. Such is the case with the upcoming Roggenrola Community Day, slated for Sunday, September 18th, 2022. During the event, you should run into more shinies of this particular Pokemon. Not to mention, there are a ton of various bonuses to take advantage of. We cover it all in detail in our Roggenrola Community Day Release Date, Time & Rewards guide, so check it out if you need to prepare.
