Pokemon GO Purrloin Spotlight Hour

The Pokemon GO Spotlight Hour mini-events are always good for getting more shiny Pokemon, so Trainers will expect the same from Purrloin. As far as that’s concerned, we’ll talk more in the section below. The event is going to begin on Tuesday, October 4th from 6 PM to 7 PM local server time. I know that’s always the case with Spotlight Hours, but it bears repeating just in case this is someone’s first. Naturally, there’s also the event bonus, which in this case is double Evolution XP. In other words, you’ll get twice the XP for every Pokemon you evolve during the Spotlight Hour. This is a pretty good one, as far as these bonuses go.

Can Purrloin be Shiny?

As far as I know, Purrloin cannot be shiny in Pokemon GO, which makes the Spotlight Hour significantly less engaging immediately. If I’m wrong, and Purrloin does actually have a shiny version in Pokemon GO, let me know in the comments. I’ll correct the article as soon as possible. However, I’m fairly certain that Purrloin does not have any special variant in this particular game. That’s not to say that this Spotlight Hour is worth ignoring. The double evolution XP bonus is always useful, and it should work for all Pokemon, not just the spotlit one. On top of that, Purrloin (and its evolution, Liepard) are not super-common in my experience, so the mini-event will be a good opportunity to “stock up” on them.
