Shiny Pumpkaboo in Pokemon GO 2022
A lot of trainers are going to be wondering if there’s a shiny Pumpkaboo in Pokemon GO in 2022. After all, it’s Halloween season at the moment, which means Pumpkaboo and Gourgeist will be all over the place. It’s a great opportunity to farm for shiny versions of Pokemon that normally aren’t that common. So, can Pumpkaboo be shiny in this game? Let’s find out.
Can Pumpkaboo Be Shiny in Pokemon GO
As far as we know, yes, Pumpkaboo cannot be shiny in Pokemon GO in 2022, but there is a little bit more to it. If you look at the post announcing Part I of the Halloween event and search for Pumpkaboo, you’ll notice that it doesn’t have the three little stars in the top right corner. That means that there is no shiny variant of Pumpkaboo. That’s bummer news, I know, but it is what it is. However, there’s also the matter of Part II of the Halloween event. It is going to feature Pumpkaboo wearing a Spooky Festival costume, which is basically just a bow tie and hat on the cat thing on its head. That one does have the three stars, indicating that it can be shiny.
So, yeah, the matter of whether Pumpkaboo can be shiny in Pokemon GO in 2022 is a bit tricky. Complicating matters further is that the second post also introduces Gourgeist wearing a Spooky Festival costume, which doesn’t have the three stars. So, maybe you can’t catch it, but you can theoretically evolve it from the Halloween-dressed Pumpkaboo? It’s all very confusing. We’ll have to wait for Part II of the event to kick off on October 27th before we can say for certain. That said, regular Pumpkaboo doesn’t have a shiny version in this game. It does come in four different sizes, though – small, average, large and super. They evolve into a Gourgeist of the same size. You need 200 Pumpkaboo candy to complete the evolution.
