Pokemon GO Porygon Spotlight Hour

During the Porygon Spotlight Hour in Pokemon GO, both the regular and shiny version of Porygon will be spawning way more often than usual. The event is going to kick off on Tuesday, November 15th, at 6 PM local time. It will wrap up an hour later, at 7 PM local time. Now, Spotlight Hours always have a little bonus, and this week, it’s going to be double catch Candy. So, you’ll get twice the Candy for catching any Pokemon. Yes, it’s not just true for Porygon, but rather extends to all Pokemon. That’s what, in my mind, makes it one of the best Spotlight Hour bonuses.

Can Porygon be Shiny?

Yes, Porygon can be shiny in Pokemon GO, so if you want one, you should definitely participate in the Spotlight Hour. The more often the Pokemon spawns, the better your adds of nabbing a special one. Don’t get me wrong, the shiny variant is still going to be very rare, but still. To make things even better, it’s very easy to tell the difference between a regular and shiny Porygon. The latter is dark purple and pink instead of red and blue. Trust me, you’ll know it when you see it. And the double catch Candy is going to make it easier to eventually evolve it into Porygon2 and Porygon-Z. Just keep in mind that you’ll also need an Upgrade evolution item for the former and a Sinnoh Stone for the latter.
