Pokemon GO Petilil Spotlight Hour

The Petilil Pokemon GO Spotlight Hour event could have been a good moment to catch a shiny Petilil, but we’ll get into the bad news in the next section. The event is going to kick off on Tuesday, November 22 at 6 PM local sever time, and end an hour later, at 7 PM local time. During this hour, Petilil is going to spawn in the wild way more often than usual, including in places it doesn’t normally appear. Of course, there’s also an event bonus. In this case, it will be double Transfer Candy. This means you’ll get twice the amount of Candy when sending Pokemon to Professor Willow. That is true for any Pokemon you mill, not just Petilil. Okay, now it’s time to bring the mood down a little.

Can Petilil be Shiny?

No, Petilil cannot be shiny in Pokemon GO, so don’t look for it during the Spotlight Hour. If you’re not interested in catching a bunch of regular Petilil, and / or don’t care much about the double Transfer Candy, then you can safely ignore this event. If, on the other hand, Petilil is rare in your general area and you’d like to evolve Lilligant, you should really make the most of the Spotlight Hour. I know that’s what I’ll be doing, because this particular Pokemon hardly ever spawns where I live. While I maintain that this is far from the most interesting Spotlight Hour I’ve ever seen, it’ll be of use to me. Just remember that you’ll need a Sun Stone, too.
