Pokemon GO Pikipek Spotlight Hour

The Pokemon GO May 2022 Pikipek Spotlight Hour is going to take place on Tuesday, May 31st, between 6 PM and 7 PM local server time. That makes it the last of these events for the month of May, of course. As is always the case with Spotlight Hours, the featured Pokemon, the adorable Pikipek, will be spawning much more often than usual, in the wild and elsewhere. As for the event bonus, it’s double Catch XP, which is one of my personal favorites. If you’re new to this, it means that you’ll get twice the Experience Points for catching Pokemon. And since that’s basically the idea of Spotlight Hours, you can earn a fair chunk of extra XP this way.

Can Pikipek Be Shiny?

As far as I know, Pikipek can’t be shiny in Pokemon GO, so the May 2022 Spotlight Hour event is not going to have that going for it. However, I could be wrong on this; please let me know in the comments. If I am wrong, and Pikipek can actually be shiny, then you’ll have to keep your eyes peeled while hunting. Why? Because the only difference between a shiny and regular Pikipek is that the little streak in its crest is a dark pink instead of red. That makes it really hard to notice the difference. So, regardless of whether or not there’s a Shiny Pikipek in Pokemon GO, you should just catch as many as you can during the Spotlight Hour just in case. Which is kind of the point of these events anyway.
