When is Larvitar Community Day 2023

The 2023 Larvitar Community Day in Pokemon GO will take place on Saturday, January 21st, 2023, from 2 PM to 5 PM local server time. That is the usual window that these events take place in. One aspect will extend to 7 PM, though. Namely, if you evolve a Pupitar into Tyranitar between 2 PM and 7 PM on January 21st, that Tyranitar will know the Smack Down Fast Attack. Of course, you’ll also be able to purchase the Larvitar Community Day Classic Ticket, which will grant you access to special Research Tasks. It costs a dollar, so buy it at your discretion. You can read more details about all that in the official event announcement.

Can Larvitar be Shiny?

Yes, Larvitar can be shiny in Pokemon GO, which means that the 2023 Community Day is going to be a great chance to catch one. Of course, you’ll still have to contend with how rare all shiny Pokemon are. That said, considering that Larvitar will be spawning more often during the event, your odds of scoring a special version of the little iron dinosaur are going to be higher. You just have to keep your eyes really open, because the only difference between a shiny and regular Larvitar is the shade of green its hide is. The shiny is more a deeper, darker green. I wish you the best of luck, and may the gods of RNG look upon you kindly.
