Pokemon GO Gen 2 Pokemon, New Evolutions, Items, Encounters & More
Trainers worldwide have a lot to be excited about. Ninatic just announced huge update to Pokemon GO, that will include 80 new Pokemon, gender-specific Pokemon, new evolutions, items, avatars, and more! The update will come out some time next week. Start preparing yourselves!
According to Niantic, we’ll have huge additions to Pokemon GO very soon. In fact, we can expect them some time this week. Thanks to various datamines, we already know something about what they’ve been cooking. However, we’ll finally get to see everything in action! Here’s an excerpt from the announcement.
Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, and many more Pokémon are nearly here! Starting later this week, you’ll have the opportunity to catch more than 80 Pokémon originally discovered in the Johto region in the Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver video games. We’ve also implemented some new features to enhance your Pokémon GO experience.
The announcement then details what we can expect to see in the app in the near future, so let’s take a closer look!
- Over 80 New Pokemon
The additional Pokemon that will roll out soon are the ones from Gold and Silver, but that’s not all. The best part is that we’ll finally get gender-specific Pokemon. That means that Pokemon breeding is probably around the corner. - New Evolutions
Obviously, Pokemon from the Johto region, aka Gen 2 Pokemon, will have brand new evolutions to explore. However, Gen 1 Pokemon will also get their own new evolutions. You’ll be able to change the evolution path using Pokemon Go Evolution Items. Well be able to collect those items from PokeStops. - Encounter Gameplay Changes
Apparently, Pokemon will start having different reactions when we try to catch them. We’re not sure what that means exactly, but we’ll let you know when we find out. Additionally, Niantic is planning new item carousels. That way, we’ll be able to access Berries and Poke Balls directly from the encounter screen. And speaking of berries… - New Berries
We’ll get two new types of berries from spinning Photo Discs. The first are called Nanab Berries, and they slow down the movements of the Pokemon that eats them. The second are called Pinap Berries. Feed them to a Pokemon, and you’ll get twice the Candy if your next catch attempt is successful. - New Avatars and Wardrobe Items
We’ll be able to give our avatars a complete overhaul. The new wardrobe stuff includes hats, shirts, pants and a lot more.
If it seems like I’m way too excited about this update, it’s because I am. My interest in the game has been waning slowly, with the winter and all. So, I’m pretty happy that I have so many new features to look forward to. Feel free to share your feelings about this update with us in the comments!
