Pokemon GO Evolving Stars Unova Challenge

To complete the Evolving Stars Unova Challenge in Pokemon GO, you need to perform two evolutions. The first one is to evolve a Tynamo into Eelektrik, for which you’ll need twenty-five Tynamo Candy. That’s pretty simple, and fortunately for you, the second part of the challenge is just as easy. It requires you to evolve a Litwick into Lampent. This also requires only twenty-five Litwick Candy. So, both of these should be a cinch to do now that you know what the game expects. Both Litwich and Tynamo will be appearing more often in the wild over the course of the Evolving Stars event. For the record, it appears that neither of them can be shiny, judging by the lack of the small stars on their icons in the post I just linked.

And there you have it, that’s how you do the Pokemon GO Evolving Stars Unova Challenge. The reward you get for it is two Unova Stones. It doesn’t seem like much, but these evolution items are very rare, and are required for certain evolution chains. It’s actually a pretty good haul for the fairly minimal amount of effort you have to put in. Here’s a quick list of Pokemon that require an Unova Stone to evolve.

  • Eelektrik into Eelektross (plus 100 Candy, still not released)
  • Lampent into Chandelure (plus 100 Candy)
  • Minccino into Cinccino (plus 100 Candy)
  • Munna into Musharna (plus 50 Candy, still not released)
  • Panpour into Simipour (plus 100 Candy)
  • Pansage into Simisage (plus 100 Candy)
  • Pansear into Simisear (plus 100 Candy)
