Dark Flames Pokemon GO, Fire or Dark Type Choice

Another Pokemon GO event is here. Called Dark Flames, this event focuses specifically on Fire and Dark-type Pokemon. As such, it’s no wonder that Turtonator, the Blast Turtle Pokemon (a Fire-type), and Mega Sableye, the Darkness Pokemon (a Dark-type) have made their official debuts here. There are two distinct Timed Research paths here, depending on whether you have chosen to focus on Fire or Dark Pokemon. But which is the better choice for the Pokemon GO Dark Flames event, Fire or Dark type Pokemon? We have the answer right here.

Pokemon GO Dark Flames Choice, Fire or Dark Type Research

The Dark Flames event is going to last from June 29th, 2023, 10 AM your local time, until Sunday, July 2nd, 2023, 8 PM your local time. For the duration of this event, you will earn additional XP and Candy for completing Raids, and, depending on your Timed Research choice, your Incense is more likely to attact Fire or Dark-type Pokemon. Note that there really isn’t a best option or choice here. Simply choose the Pokemon type that you prefer. And now, let’s see the Timed Research tasks themselves:

• Dark Flames Step #1: Explore 2 KM (x10 Poke Ball reward), Catch 2 Fire or Dark-type Pokemon (x10 Great Ball reward), and Catch 10 different species of Pokemon (x10 Ultra Ball reward). After this initial step, you will need to choose whether you want to focus on Fire or Dark-type Pokemon going forward.
• Fire-type Timed Research #1: Catch 20 Fire-type Pokemon (x10 Poke Ball reward), Power up 10 Fire-type Pokemon (x10 Pinap Berry reward), and Catch 25 snapshots of wild Fire-type Pokemon (Slugma encounter reward).
• Fire-type Timed Research #2: Purify 1 Fire-type Shadow Pokemon (x10 Great Ball reward), Power up 10 Fire-type Pokemon (Alolan Marowak encounter reward), and Evolve 3 Fire-type Pokemon (Darumaka encounter reward).
• Fire-type Timed Research #3: Catch 20 Fire-type Pokemon (x10 Silver Berry reward), Power up 10 Fire-type Pokemon (x10 Ultra Ball reward), and Battle in 3 raids (Houndoom encounter reward).
• Dark-type Timed Research #1: Catch 20 Dark-type Pokemon (x10 Poke Ball reward), Power up 10 Dark-type Pokemon (x10 Pinap Berry reward), and Catch 25 snapshots of wild Dark-type Pokemon (Carvanha encounter reward).
• Dark-type Timed Research #2: Purify 1 Dark-type Shadow Pokemon (x10 Great Ball reward), Power up 10 Dark-type Pokemon (Sneasel encounter reward), and Evolve 3 Dark-type Pokemon (Scraggy encounter reward).
• Dark-type Timed Research #3: Catch 20 Dark-type Pokemon (x10 Silver Berry reward), Power up 10 Dark-type Pokemon (x10 Ultra Ball reward), and Battle in 3 raids (Houndoom encounter reward).
