Pokemon GO Celesteela Weakness & Counters

Before we get into what the best moveset for Celesteela in Pokemon GO, we have to cover the main part: its weakness and best counters. Well, Celesteela is weak against Fire and Electric moves, taking 160% damage from them. It is, however, very strong against a plethora of other attack types. It takes 63% from Dragon, Fairy, Ground, Normal, Steel, Flying and Psychic moves, and 39% from Grass, Bug and Poison. Your options are pretty narrow, is what I’m saying. So, here’s a list of Pokemon we believe should be excellent against Celesteela.

  • Xurkitree with Thunder Shock or Spark and Discharge
  • Mega Charizard with Fire Spin and Blast Burn
  • Zekrom with Charge Beam and Wild Charge
  • Reshiram with Fire Fang and Overheat
  • Therian Thundurus with Volt Switch and Thunderbolt
  • Blaziken with Fire Spin and Blast Burn
  • Raikou (Shadow or regular) with Thunder Shock or Volt Switch and Wild Charge
  • Darmanitan (any version) with Fire Fang and Overheat
  • Zapdos (Shadow or regular) with Thunder Shock and Thunderbolt
  • Moltres (Shadow or regular) with Fire Spin and Overheat

Pokemon GO Celesteela Best Moveset

So, we’ve gone over the weakness and best counters for Celesteela in Pokemon GO, let’s cover what the best moveset is. Out of all the different attacks this character has at its disposal, probably the best combination is Air Slash (Flying) or Smack Down (Rock) as the Quick Attack and Heavy Slam (Steel) as the Charged Attack. As far as I know, these are the only two Quick Attacks Celesteela can have in the first place. As for the Charged Attacks, it can also have Iron Head (Steel), Body Slam (Normal) and Bulldoze (Ground). So, you know, feel free to go with whatever combination works best for your needs and preferences.
