The Pokemon GO Ditto April Fools 2022 event is about to begin, but there’s not a lot of info about it. The developers have been holding their cards real close to the chest, and if the leaks are anything to go by, there’s good reason for the secrecy. In fact, I’m gonna put up a big ole SPOILER WARNING from here on out. Still here? Awesome. Let’s see what you can expect to see in this year’s Pokemon GO April Fool’s event.

Update: The following Pokemon can transform into Ditto: Ekans, Gastly, Natu, Surskit, Finneon, Lillipup. Even if you encounter a normal Pokemon from this list, it has a chance of being a Ditto, and also a small chance to be a shiny Ditto.
Step 1- Catch 10 Pokémon – 25 Poké Balls
- Catch 5 Normal-type Pokémon – 5 Potions
- Make 5 Nice Throws – 5 Nanab Berries
- Rewards: 1,000 Stardust, 5 Razz Berries, and 1,000 Stardust.
- Catch 10 Pokémon – 15 Great Balls
- Catch 3 of the Transform Pokémon – 5 Super Potions
- Transfer 10 Pokémon – 5 Pinap Berries
- Rewards: 1,500 XP, 1 Silver Pinap Berry, and 1,500 XP.
- Claim reward – 10 Ultra Balls
- Claim reward – 5 Hyper Potions
- Claim reward – 3,500 XP
- Rewards: 3,000 Stardust, 15 Ditto Candy, and a Ditto encounter.

The Pokemon GO 2022 April Fools event is almost upon us, but the developers have been incredibly tight-lipped about the whole thing, as we’ve already said. Fortunately, there are some things that leakers have revealed, based on which we can make a few assumptions. First off, according to Leek Duck, the event is going to take place from 10 AM to 8 PM local time, on Friday, April 1st. In other words, it’s almost an entire day of adventure and, presumably, pranks and hilarity of some description. As for the actual contents of the event, well, that’s a little murkier.
All the info we have about the upcoming event comes from reputed leakers over on PokeMiners. If you want to see what they’ve dug up yourself, you can click that link. Here’s a quick rundown, though. It seems that Ditto is going to be the main focus of a three-part Research in the Pokemon GO April Fools 2022 event, but instead of other Pokemon, it will apparently turn into Professor Willow. That honestly sounds more like Halloween material for me; Willow with those blank Ditto eyes is just about the most terrifying thing I can imagine in this game, but I digress.
Another major element is going to be a six-step Rocket Research thing. Nothing much out of the ordinary; you’ll fight lower-level Rocket grunts, leaders, that pest Giovanni, all the usual suspects. And that’s about all we know with any degree of certainty. We’ll just have to wait for the event to kick off and see what happens.
